Hermes-Epitek and National Tsing Hua University Establish Joint Research Center

2025-11-24

Hermes-Epitek and National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) today (24th) signed an agreement to establish the Hermes-Epitek–NTHU Joint Research Center. The collaboration aims to deepen industry–academia cooperation and accelerate innovation in advanced semiconductor and quantum technologies.

Hermes-Epitek has long invested in fundamental research—from electrons and ions to neutrons—and has expanded its expertise from silicon to compound semiconductors, supporting the development of advanced processes and next-generation technologies. Partnering with NTHU enables the integration of industrial strength and academic excellence to jointly accelerate research, innovation, and talent development.

The new research center will form an interdisciplinary team focused on semiconductor, metal, and superconductor heteroepitaxial structures for next-generation photonic, electronic, and quantum applications. Both parties will deepen research collaboration, academic exchange, and technology transfer, further strengthening Taiwan’s global competitiveness in semiconductors and quantum technology.
