Hermes-Epitek Vice Chairman C.Y. Shu was honored today (28th) with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the “2025 Chinese Professional Management Association of Hsinchu 15th General Assembly and 22nd Hsinchu Outstanding Manager Awards” ceremony. The recognition highlights his nearly forty years of profound and lasting impact on Taiwan’s semiconductor industry.
Established for more than three decades, the Chinese Professional Management Association of Hsinchu is a vital platform for managerial exchange and innovation in the Hsinchu region, making this award especially meaningful.
Mr. Shu was a member of the RCA technology-transfer team and has dedicated his career to advancing the semiconductor field. He previously held key positions at ITRI and major wafer-fabrication companies, concentrating on IC manufacturing and the development of domestic equipment technologies. After joining Hermes-Epitek in 2001 as President and COO, he later led Hermes Microvision (HMI) from 2004 to 2016. Under his leadership, HMI successfully developed world-class electron-beam inspection systems for semiconductor process defect detection, elevating Taiwan’s equipment technology to the global stage.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Shu is widely respected for his rigor, openness, and leadership philosophy grounded in kindness and inclusiveness.
